Traitor Joel's declassified horde survival guide. (Horde every night)

    Posted: 16 Jul 2021 06:45 PM PDT

I wrote up this document for surviving horde every night on insane difficulty and I want to see what everyone thinks.

You'll start with horde every 7 days. Once you find a place to settle and make a base you leave and have server owner turn on horde every night. (It's best to settle in the same town or area as one of the Traitors so you have easy access to buy and sell things)

In total you'll need 6 players MINIMUM for this to work, divided equally into roles as follows:

1 Head builder and architect of the base. They'll go down tool perks and science for all the different Machines, forges, workbenches, cement mixers etc. Also traps for the base and vehicles.

1 Base build helper. Aside from helping build the base they will be tasked with farming and cooking

2 people on strength and mining, with one chopping/planting trees and digging for sand/clay. The other one mining for rocks and ore. If there's an abundance of any resource the two may work together on ore, stone, wood, sand, etc. Please make it a point to replant trees if you're one of these people.

The 2 miners will want to go expedition to a desert for oil as early as they can. Although there might not be a need for oil at the time or anyone to turn it into gas, when the horde nights get stronger they need to focus primarily on base building materials and ore for upgrades and ammunition.

2 people for scavenging and hunting for parts, food/meat, leather, schematics/magazines etc. These people need to make a point to be back home before horde night every night and not bunker up in a building until morning. You'll need all hands on deck especially for harder horde nights.

Weapons will be made by whoever is going down the skill tree for its type. Example people going down strength will make shotguns and people going down fortitude will make rifles/AK-47's.

When starting out the first day or so you'll want to fortify a small house near the place you choose to set up. You'll use that as your temporary base making sure if you put any chests or bedrolls down they're on the second floor.

The actual horde base will start out small. You'll start with a small structure, catwalks around it, and two or so levels to kite the zombies around during the horde. The main room where you keep all your chests and forges etc. will either be under ground in a fortified hand made bunker or off to the side of the base eventually requiring a draw bridge to get to. That option would also be fortified. A full structure not hollow in the middle with a moat around it that has spikes just like the rest of the base so no matter what zombies won't be able to break it down and cost us all our stuff.

Never leave one person behind, ALWAYS travel in groups.

Because this is horde every night you need to keep questing to a minimum and if anyone's going to do questing it'll be the scavengers.

ALWAYS conserve ammunition for any firearm. Only use ammunition IF you need to and no more then you need. People going down strength can always make you a club or a sledge hammer and with the right attachments such as the weighted head or the burning shaft mod they can become real useful. If you need to kill zombies with something other then melee weapons have someone going down the perception perk make you some kind of bow. Arrows are a lot cheaper, easier, and less time consuming to make. You can easily find feathers, stone, and wood in the wild to make some makeshift arrows if you run out of specialty arrows.

Everyone is to stick to their assigned or chosen job at all times unless mutually agreed unanimously otherwise.

If people wish to switch to a different role or task they must first find someone to switch with and then both use Grandpas forgettin' elixir to reassign their skill points to their new area of expertise.

Everyone will eventually get at least a minibike. The first two will go to the scavengers, second two will go to the miners, and the last two will go to the builders. As for 4x4 trucks one will be for scavengers and the other for the mining crew. When you get to the point of making a gyro-copter that will also go to the scavengers. No one else should have a need to use one.

Any claw hammers or nail guns found or made will go straight to the builders again unless agreed upon otherwise. If everyone is doing their job no one else should need it except for cases during horde night where everyone needs to man repairs if you're going to survive.

Absolutely NO locked chests for whatever reason. If the chest is meant for building materials for example but you are a scavenger then you need ask before you take anything. Take ONLY what you need. Nothing more. This is an effort to keep people from hiding things or leaving stuff in a locked "personal" chest when other people need them. If you really must lock certain things up please do so on your minibike.

Follow these simple rules and you should be able to survive without your base getting overrun and people dying left and right.

Feel free to use this but cite me with the original link to this post if you decide to post it anywhere for example your Discord server.

    What do you guys think?
