    Fun terrifying fact

If you accidentally pick up your bedroll in a structure that sleepers used to spawn in, they will apparently immediately spawn and surround you. Scared the shit outta me

What's the longest amount of days anyone's survived?

Seems pretty straightforward, my buddy and I are on Day33 XB1 and are hyped to see how long we can go, but are curious how long to look forward to.

I've made a small companion app for Android - any feedback would be appreciated

    Posted: 16 Jun 2019 03:41 AM PDT

    Hi,

In the past few days we've been finishing our small companion app for 7 Days to Die, available to be downloaded here:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.antoniak.craftbox.sevendd

Basically this app is an item browser. You can browse through the items, quickly inspect what are the ingredients, required perks and required workstations for each item, and go on with the game. As a bonus there's also a calculator for blood moons, if desired.

It may contain some bugs, and if you'll find any I'd love to hear about it. Generally, any feedback will be much appreciated!

How do I get wood tips to make JaWoodle’s killing corridor early-game?

The new update is great, but here is a list of things that can certainly be improved on.

    Posted: 15 Jun 2019 11:55 PM PDT

Although not being in touch with the community itself, I have been a fan of and have played this game for a good while. I saw potential in it's very raw form, and to my happiness, the newest update makes the game feel much more like a real game than even before. However, I'd like to propose some important changes.

    Here's the bad stuff:

    • The "Near Death Trauma" debuff is not a good addition to the game, as it's already enough of a frustrating pain to get back to your death point in a zombie filled area.
    • The way structures treat stability is still extremely janky, and many prebuilt structures (especially boats) destroy themselves when anything at all breaks. On the opposite side, I've often tried to collapse some buildings that were held up entirely by touching the corners of a single block.
    • The base-level stamina loss with jumping is FAR too much, as the game forces jumping in many structures and approaching a new floor at a 60-80 stamina deficit while 10 zombies get a lock on you is a horrible situation that is forced on players many times.
    • The lack of any sort of penetration system leads to far too many zombies getting a lucky block with a hand, forcing people into tight situations often times, especially while raiding buildings with tight corners and many zombies.
    • It is far too easy to run out of stamina in many ways, and the delay before starting to gain stamina back after using is far too long, especially in combat situations.
    • Unless you're crouching basically 24/7, any and all sneaking perks are borderline useless in anything but hunting since most animals don't have large aggro ranges.
    • Movement of zombies still feels very erratic and difficult to predict, with them often taking pathfinding routes that have them swap between linear lines back and forth in way that has no tell, making shooting basically a luck of the draw in small yet critical areas like the head.
    • Bows are way too weak now. There's almost no point to even having a compound bow with steel arrows since I can scrap the 20 pistols I find every loot trip and get insane amounts of ammo for an SMG or Pistol. Bows need to have a use to them, since there isn't one now. Perhaps a much larger critical hit multiplier on higher tier bows due to the need to draw and the addition of really heavy gravity to adjust for.
    • Some of the modifications are so painfully useless there's no point to their existence. I get some are tier 1, but there are tier 1s with way more usefulness than a 4% decrease in noise range.
    • Rare materials are far to easy to gain now. There are really no materials I have trouble finding. The hardest really has been acid, but I still have 11 extra of them and they aren't used in many recipes. It used to be very challenging to find mechanical parts, but now I have over 400 and I still sell a lot of them.
    • It should be made clearer when the blood moon horde is dead. It's extremely anticlimactic when the night is only half over andt no more zombies spawn past that arbitrary point.
    • It should be much clearer that you're nearing death much sooner. The only times I'm anywhere below 50% is when I'm getting ganged up in a corner by a massive horde of zombies.
    • The bleeding mechanic is essentially the thing that decides whether you die or not. It just seems quite annoying that 1 mechanic is essentially what decides whether you die or not.
    • Bird hitboxes and movement is extremely annoying and erratic. You can fire a pistol in their face 10 times in a row and never hit because they keep randomly shifting up and down.
    • Item swap speed is very low for such an occasionally high speed game, especially when you can't interrupt things like reload animations whatsoever, which often leads to getting hit multiple times due to a decreased movement speed while reloading a weapon you don't want to reload. Such a slow speed is not fitting for an action oriented game like any FPS.
    • As much as I think the XP system is better in some ways, the lack of ability to work on skills by doing actions other than killing zombies for general upgrade points makes the game feel much less diverse.
    • Light is extremely laggy still, which makes a decent looking base very annoying to build.

Here's the good stuff (in the newer updates):

    • I love the new quest system, the old one felt unnecessary and clunky.
    • The new level system seems reasonable for the most part compared to the previous versions, even though sometimes I wish you could level up via doing actions.
    • The XP bar was a much needed QOL feature and I thank you for that.
    • Buildings seem much more unique and fun to raid with all the hidden staches, as well as the addition of the big loot places in each building makes it very fun to raid.
    • I love the new toughness zombies have, it feels much more like a fight than just instakilling every zombie.
    • The ability for zombies to ragdoll and even get launched back a bit is very fun.
    • The new assortment of vehicles gives much more depth to progression in this game.

That being said, I am fully aware this game is in alpha, and that's exactly why I'm making this list. This is a very capable dev team and I sincerely hope that you take some of my criticisms to heart. This game has a lot of potential that is in the process of being realized, and I hope it will be. Have a nice day.

(Edit: I'll add more as I think of them and correct spelling mistakes.)

    Ps4 version not getting updates?

    Posted: 16 Jun 2019 10:46 AM PDT

I heard that it was done by a different company (no idea why?) and that they went under. I was curious why it seemed so far behind PC. Is the Xbox version also where the ps4 one is? Or is it where pc is?

Man that's depressing though to realize mine will never get updated :-(
