What is your favorite 17.4 8k map seed? Posted: 12 Sep 2019 12:25 PM PDT I am looking for a good map seed to try on 17.4 on pc that has a lot of cities and towns and traders and regular forest with not much burnt biome or wasteland and no big lakes. Does anyone have a recommendation for me to try on there? I have looked on google and have found a few recommendations but wanted to ask here too. I am thinking of trying the Bad Neighborhood one. Posted: 12 Sep 2019 09:31 PM PDT I know people are getting all tingly in their pants right now and the zombies are not the only thing that are a little stiff at the thought of A18 and the new M60. But don't spray and pray like Joel does in his videos :P. You just end up making a mess and then you still have all these visitors that are still hungry after you're spent.
Unless it's an emergency take a breath and calmly lay down short and relatively accurate bursts fire so you don't have to craft 1,500 rounds for horde nights :P. If you're missing the bursts, you're going to miss most of your full auto too. If you find that you just cannot control yourself, consider finding the burst fire trigger mod.
Also, and this is important, there are ammo types in A18! IIRC it's normal bullets, Hollow Point rounds, and Armor Piercing rounds. Intended use is normal bullets work for everything, armor piercing is better at dealing with heavy armor enemies like soldiers, and hollow points suck vs armor (as you can see in Joel's latest video and then you see it again lol) but are really good vs unarmored enemies. Looks like red tips are hollow points, grey tips are armor piercing. Listen to the sound of his bullets pinging off their armor in those clips, that's the sound que to let you know "hey, wrong bullet silly". Compare those situations to him using the proper ammo here. You can see at the bottom right when he reloads he changes form the red tip bullets to the grey tips and the difference is night and day. No pinging noises and they go down fast.
Alternatively there are options for hordes for people that don't want to do machine guns via the Fortitude Tree. Perception Tree Sniper Rifles will be able to penetrate up to 4 zombies with max "Penetrator" perk under perception, they also get grenade perks. Intellect will have a turret they can fire while carrying or put down and it will fire in the cone in front of it...IIRC it fired scrap iron. Intellect also gets trap perks. Strength has Shotguns that have apparently been buffed and they look like they are double dipping on dismemberment chances...though perhaps the tooltips were just not up to date. Agility has bows as well as handguns/magnums/smgs, same story with burst firing the SMG but the Magnum should be able to handle hard targets and a 3 round burst handgun can prolly handle crowds too while being more efficient than the SMG I'd wager. Every perk tree has appropriate melee weapons too.
Source video for perk tree info. That was in June though so I'm assuming some things have been tweaked, changed a little, or iterated on. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Sep 2019 01:34 AM PDT Well, I built a long corridor with 20 turrets pointing at the entrance to welcome my day 280 blood moon. Is this a bug? or intended (eg overheat system)? [link] [comments]
How to reset level or skill points on pc? Posted: 12 Sep 2019 04:13 PM PDT I was trying to lower the level gates with a mod and somehow my progression.xml got deleted. I verified integrity and pulled the mod out cause it obviously didn't work, and my whole skill tree was reset. However I was still level 35. How can I either give me and my friends back their skill points, or reset levels so I can just use the exp command to give our levels back? [link] [comments]

Any way to remove the level wall in the skill tree? Posted: 12 Sep 2019 12:23 PM PDT Like my last post; having to be level 70 for steel is stupid. It's just dumb. Is there a way I can remove the level walls for everything for me and my friends on pc? [link] [comments]
