    UP UP AND AWAY!!!!!

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 06:11 PM PST

So...by changing only the game's native config, every zombie that would spawn has been replaced as a crawler. A flying crawler. A horde of flying crawlers is a sight to behold!

Someone wanted to see more of the flying crawlers. Enjoy! (there's a link to more in the comments)

Just survived day 42 horde, need suggestions on defense designs

Is this game something to pick up if I like zombie defense games?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 09:30 PM PST

So one of my cherished films growing up was Night of the Living dead, and I absolutely love scenarios where you barricade yourself in a structure and pray it lasts.

If seen some gameplay of this and the basic premise seems to be that you have to build a shelter and survive zombie hordes.

Wondering if that is the case and if I should pick it up. I'm just a huge fan of zombie games, with games such as resident evil, dying light, dead rising etc. But truth be told I never had a game scratch that base survival itch, trying to hide or get by the night as zombies surround and try to break into your base.

I guess I just want some opinions on if the game is as awesome as I'm making it out in my mind.

I'm imagining making a small house and then maybe fortifying it further and further as zombie hordes keep attacking. I want to feel that helplessness.

How do you balance your settings to create challenging gameplay and manageable hordes?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 06:38 PM PST

Coming back to the game after several years, playing on Survivalist with always run, delete all on death and slight buffs to XP and loot abundance. This results in very fun general gameplay which is challenging and not too grindy without being unfair. That is until horde night rolls around and everything gets obliterated by hordes of Demos, Rads and Cops which go through 4 layers of wood spikes, 5 layers of iron spikes, multiple concrete walls and several thousand rounds of ammo on the first or second horde of the server. What settings should be tweaked for a more fair horde?

Fml I originally built my horde base off of a POI on day 5 and decided to do a mission (not knowing it reset the POI) on said POI and now it’s gone.. it’s day 51. Should I just rebuild it since I know exactly how to build it again or should I build a new one?

Youtuber and Medieval Weapons enthusiast Skallagrim explains that zombies should actually be tougher than they are usually depicted in media.

    "Batter up!" broken?

Is anybody having issues with the "Batter up!" book series? Book #7's description is broken and the full book collection bonus doesn't seem to be working (not getting the stam refresh on Power attack kill). The server has no mods and the only adjustment made is exp gain and zombie difficulty. Server is the newest build as of 2/24/2020 on PC.

    Help with skills please?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 08:16 PM PST

Hi all, fairly new to 7 days. Playing with a few friends and not necessarily taking different traits to be optimal.

I'm trying to find a skill build path that suits me but would like some help.

I'm enjoying using the rifle / bow. But want a decent melee weapon as well?

    Any recommendations please ?

    Smallest map size available

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 08:07 PM PST

is 4096 really the smallest map you can make? my friends and i were wanting to do some pvp, but on a 4096 map it can be 30 days until you even bump into someone. seems like an oddly arbitrary limitation on the game.

Do Maze or Stilt Bases Still Work? What Base Design Has (or Hasn't) Worked for You?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 06:50 PM PST

Hey all! Fellow survivor here. Coming back to the game after several months, and have no idea what are good bases now. Especially because I've been reading on the forums (I tried to find an answer before posting) that the AI has changed again.

So, I'm wondering, do maze or stilt bases still work? Or is the strategy to build thick walls? What about underground bases?

I'm also curious as to what you guys have tried, and how that went for you.

    Appreciate any input!

Made a looting spreadsheet, download link in description

    Link to the file.

So, I got tired of running back and forth as I misremembered the day I looted one house or another, or trying to think which house had what resource. So, being the geek I am, the obvious solution was to make an excel spreadsheet!

As the picture shows, the row will turn red if it has been more than 30 days since the last looting. It also highlights all the cells with "Yes" in them, making it easy to see at a glance if the location has that particular resource. Just add a marker on your map for each building you want to keep tabs on.

This particular version has the default 30 days in it, but you can easily change it by going to Conditional Formatting -> Manage Rules -> Edit Rule and changing the +30 to the amount of days you have set your respawn timer to.

Dunno if anyone else feels the need to something like this, but thought to share it with the community anyway. Cheers!

    Gameplay mechanics questions

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 03:22 PM PST

    1. When is it safe to come out from my hiding place in a basement in the morning after being there overnight? Is it:

    a. When I hear a musical tone that sounds happy at around 4 am

    b. When I see sunlight

    c. a. and b.

    d. none of the above

    e. at a specific time

    1. I know that torches are listed as heatmap/activity map item from looking at the wiki, but is there a difference between holding them and having them wall mounted other than just the source location?

    2. Same as question #1, but for dusk.

    3. Does crafting things in my personal inventory make noise?

    4. Is the green bar in my stealth meter representative of the *probability* I will be spotted, or is there a threshold of 100 where I am automatically spotted?

    5. What are the differnt musical chimes I'm hearing at times in the afternoon well before 5 pm (could have sworn there was one at 4 pm) and then at 10 pm?

    Thanks in advance
