I miss the old zombie loot system. Posted: 20 Jul 2020 06:02 PM PDT The A17+ loot system, in my opinion, takes away from the immersion. Having a large yellow bag just pop out of nowhere after killing a random zombie completely takes me out of the experience. I miss needing medical supplies, and looking for a nurse to get some bandages or painkillers, or a skateboarder to get some mechanical parts. It just made sense, and it gave character to what the zombies were in their past lives. I also liked how you could get rotten meat and bones from the zombies, because it made sense that you could realistically do that. I love what the devs have done with the everything else; the graphics, perk system, item tier system, quests, etc., and they have my full support going forward. I just miss the old zombie loot system. [link] [comments]

Alpha b169 - Auger mining sounds are extremely obnoxious now! Posted: 20 Jul 2020 01:37 PM PDT I have no idea why the auger got changed in build 169 from 163, but it makes me want to mute the game every time I play and mine with the auger. That is A) not viable since auger is spawning way more screamers with the new heat map than it used to and B) I shouldn't want to mute the game to avoid a specific common game sound. I almost hope it's a bug on my end because then I know it'll get fixed. I'll download OBS or something to record it just to make sure what I'm hearing is the standard sound and not broken. Edit: downloaded OBS and recorded mining. Sound might be a little quiet during playback so just turn it up if you have to. [link] [comments]
Alpha 19 Stable should be out relatively soon right? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 02:29 PM PDT Sorry I'm new to the waiting game, I just started playing the PC version like 2 weeks ago. From what I read Alpha 18 experimental lasted about 3 weeks and thats about where we are now with Alpha 19 experimental, so is it reasonable to think stable comes this week? I've spent enough time in the experimental version to figure out the game, now I'm planning to play it safe and start a new game when stable comes out before I really invest time into it. Is there any reason this experimental might last longer than the past and/or do the fun pimps ever give out if stable release is close? [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Jul 2020 09:14 PM PDT I have 83 hours into this game, and so far it is a lot of fun I have two characters, a Sniper and a Brawler. When playing with friends. When playing by yourself it is super stressful. Blood Moons are terrifying single player. Just wanted to vent after failing to clear the Shotgun Messiah Tier 5 quest for a third time.
Now for some positives.

Loot houses before doing clear or fetch missions Posted: 20 Jul 2020 01:51 PM PDT Why because once you start them all the loot in the area will reset completely so double the loot for not to much effort that's all I gotta say just thought more people should know as I haven't seen it mentioned. How many deaths you have per save? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 05:51 PM PDT I'm quite mad about my death rate, me and two friends start A19 when release, we are at day 59 and I have 7 deaths, according to the game i'm alive for 46 hours (that may be "real world" hours). so i if my math is correct I had my last death at day 13 which bothers me even more, because is one death every two days in the first two weeks. We are quite new to the game we started at A18.4 a month before A19 and we only play weekends, but that's not excuse to this high numbers of deaths. One of my friends has 8 deaths and the other 15 he's our engineer and barely leaves the base, but when it does surely die, like that fateful day 13 when coming back to base walking and my friend says: "look, there is a bear there... -"don't shoot him! let's circle over there" I said My friend with infinite wisdom shoot at the bear wearing only a Hunting Rifle, when I see the bear charging at him I empty my pistol at the bear, then the bear change direction and kill me and then my friend, the 3rd guy run as fast he can, he was like 60 meters ahead at the moment. That's the last death I had in this save, many of my deaths come from mistakes and bad choices from other people. I don't know why is this so important to me, is just a game, I get it, but we can do it better. My friends seems not give a shit about it. First horde at day 7, I build a killing corridor, the kill box had 3 walls and the way that zombies come, so to get in the box I put a ladder in the back at two block high, 10 minutes before the 22:00 my friends come, when zombies start coming, no one come from the front, weird right?... we soon get zombies inside the box, I could't understand how they get inside without breaking any wall... we all died, and when I come back there it was a "wooden frame ladder" to get the other ladder which my friend put because he cannot jump... Don't get me wrong, I love my friends and I love to play in party, I guess my 0 deaths challenge will never come with them. And I have so many stories like that... maybe I write them all if you want to read some sad stories, do you ever encounter a group of dogs in your base because one guy didn't close the door? because I do. Magnum Casings after reloading? Where do they go? Why not my pocket? Posted: 20 Jul 2020 08:41 PM PDT I was in my base pondering the dire brass situation in the run up to my next horde night. I tidied my inventory and reloaded my weapons. As I watched the gun reload i found myself wanting some of those casings to perhaps slip into my pocket. I wonder if perhaps we could have a book/perk for casing salvage when reloading the Magnum? Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
