Hey survivors! This park has every farm plant except corn and has a white gazebo to help spot it! You will find cotton, goldenrod, chrysanthemum, blueberries, mushrooms, hops, potatoes, yuccas, and even snowberries. hopefully enough to get your farm started if your having trouble gathering seeds.

    A19 [UNOFFICIAL] Loot table fix!

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 11:14 AM PDT

So I created a thread yesterday complaining about the A19 loot table and how it feels too linear. Feeling a little dejected I made a little fix with a friend for our own enjoyment. I figured since so many people seemed to be in the same headspace, I'd share it here in case anyone wanted to try it!

To cut a long story short we altered two XML files to better reflect the previous patch while also respecting the new direction of the loot table. You still have to grind levels to get good items, HOWEVER there's now ALWAYS a chance that you can get a Tier 3 / Tier 2 / Tier 1's throughout the game. As an extreme example when you're level 0 you have about 1 in 1000 chance to get a T3 item and it quickly rises as you level and then flattens out. Each tier has adjusted values and we've aimed to balance it to feel challenging and yet rewarding. This will not feel like A18, but it won't feel like A19, instead it's a blend between the two.

We've also adjusted how different quality items spawn. Now, nothing is impossible, anything can spawn at any time, it's just REALLY unlikely. For the most part the game will play like it's A19, but you shouldn't see 5 tier 6 blunderbusses in a row at around day 13. A big improvement is we've also made it possible to get worse level items at a higher level as well, so high level doesn't = instant win. However you're still more likely to find better loot the more you level. We added a fair bit of code to make this happen!

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

DOWNLOAD LINK to the XML files

    ** > https://filebin.net/zoju4aq4ifwixa6v **

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

    INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

    1) Simply download both XML files and replace the existing files in your "7 Days To Die\Data\Config" folder

    2) I've adjusted the game speed to be more in line with warrior difficulty from A18. You can tweak this to your liking. Just edit the XML file called "gamestages" and search for the line "difficultyBonus="1.7". Edit the value to your liking (1.2 = Default A19 - slow and steady, 2.0 is fast & hard.)

Anyway, if you were feeling a little discouraged with the loot progression in A19, I hope this helps until the Devs release more updates. From looking at the code this looks to be the first step in a much bigger change.

    Peace!

(TLDR: High tier loot will always spawn, just unlikely, high level loot can always spawn just unlikely, everything scaled dynamically with world progression. Will not feel like A19 or A18. Being high level no longer = instant win.)

    Nighttime Activities

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 10:03 PM PDT

What do you do at night? I usually look over the skill tree and kill time digging tunnels. I haven't found much so far at my bedrock tunnel project.

My (probably controversial) take on the 7DTD experience the past few months/years

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 03:11 AM PDT

    RANT WARNING

    1. Players build a fortress with traps to keep out the hordes? Introduce a suicide zombie that explodes and crushes traps and severely damages even concrete.

    2. Players ride away from the hordes? Increase the fuel consumption on vehicles.

    3. Players dig down to hide from the hordes? Make zombies detect them anywhere they go and massively increase block damage so that they can dig down to you.

Do the devs hate us? Changing the meta is one thing, actively fucking with people's survival one tactic after another until there is no reliable way? That goes beyond.

Does this entire sub hate this game?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:30 AM PDT

I read this sub every day and it seems like all I ever see are non-stop complaints about how much everyone hates this game and alpha 19. It seems like people here dont want to be challenged and dont want any surprises on horde night. It seems like people here see everything as "us vs. fun pimps" and the devs are actively trying to dismantle everything you enjoy about this game.

Personally, think gaming is about community, and I really, really like playing games that have an active development team. I believe in this game because I've seen what TFP have been working on and I love the updates and I love the vision for the plot. The game right now is scary and spooky and tough and you cant rely on guns all the time and animals attack if you run around at night.

I love playing this game, but here's how I view most of this sub:

New loot system? "Trash. I cant find a gun on day 1 and I have no idea how to melee. Gaming only fun with gun."

Stamina more difficult to manage? "OMG! They took away mining!! Game is ruined!!!"

More reliance on food buffs/consumables? "WOW I can't believe they are FORCING me to play this way."

Quests have better rewards and send you to new traders: "WOW I can't believe they are FORCING me to play this way."

Lucky looter is nerfed but still really helpful for finding better loot? "WOW I can't believe they are FORCING me to play this way."

Traders sometimes sell lvl 1 guns for 400 dukes during the first week? "WOW I can't believe they are FORCING me to play this way."

Vultures attacking me when I run away on horde night? "I can't believe they removed the exploit I use to completely ignore the main point of the game!!"

More animal spawns at night? "This game is soooooooo hard it's not fun anymore."

Blunderbuss sucks...at what point do better guns start spawning?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 10:15 PM PDT

Zombie dogs are the biggest threat to me and the blunderbuss isn't enough to defend myself from them. Can someone tell me what level i should be at before i start looting gunsafes for a pistol or better?

Has anyone else noticed that climbing ladders seems to be much more lethal since A19 got released?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:11 AM PDT

Not kidding, I've died twice already just trying to climb ladders in A19. I'm not even talking fall damage I'm just talking trying to reach the bottom rung of the ladder and it just decides to kill me.

7 Days to Die - Fat Camp - Barbed Wire Base Build - Iron Curtain Grades ...

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:15 PM PDT

What do you enjoy about 7 days to die?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:00 AM PDT

In efforts to help bring something positive to this sub regarding the game, gameplay, mechanics, graphics whatever. I just want to have a discussion with whoever has something good to say. Please don't comment if you don't like the game or if all you have to say is something negative. I'm particularly fond of having 32 zombies on horde night, ramped up difficulty, loot and xp. Also i really like how the devs are revamping all the POIs. What's your favorite part or this game in A19?

EDIT: Thank you all for commenting and showing some love for the title

    the "point" of the game

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 06:21 AM PDT

    its really quite simple......survive.

the beauty of the game is the raw simplicity.

staying alive long enough to experience the deeper aspects of the game is the point.

graphics? ai logic? for what? that's not the point. go play dead island or dying light if you want that.

this is as realistic as a survival video game will get. (fallout new vegas is more stylized)

could the console have more updates? larger variety of "perks"? deeper item customization? more animals? sure, it could...

would that actually "add" anything as far as the actual POINT of the game? no. it would look better and be a little more fresh

but youd essentially be doing the same thing.

    just with more variety.

i actually like the awkwardness and clunkiness of the controls. its harder to fight.

    is it pretty? no. lol

    not the point.

im done ranting, i just get bored hearing players, old and new, complaining about aspects of the game that have nothing to do with the actual point of the game.

its basically naked and afraid in zombie apocalypse....stay alive however you want....or can....

people come up with all types of crazy strategies.

i play super hardcore and start over upon death, every time.

    /rant

    sorry. lol.

Is there any differences in the end result if you build up a wood black to concrete vs using rebar frames to get to concrete?

Quest rewards for ammo too much in A19?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 02:28 PM PDT

I just started a new game on A19 and quest rewards that are ammo seem way too high. There's usually a non-ammo option and it's laughbly tiny in comparison. Examples:

    • 2 antibiotics pills vs 120 shotgun shells

    • Fireaxe mod vs 200 pistol ammo

Is it a bug? The rewards seem way too high as well compared to what you can get by crafting or looting.

    Food / Hunger issues

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:19 PM PDT

Me and my friends just finished first 7 days horde and we are running hungry at an insane rate. My friend spawned after death and within minutes ( maybe 10min) he lost 25 Food. We are spending most our time running for food with tons of water / red tea / yucca juice

We have fresh server. Warrior Mode and I made days to 74min total

Is something wrong with my server or is it just how things go now ?

Why does this game activates my camera?

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 08:00 PM PDT

I just noticed the camera light on my laptop lits up when the game starts. I get a "camera off" when the I exit the game. Anyone else noticed this?

I've also restarted the system as well, no change

edit apparently, built in camera + mic... still not ideal

Vertical mushroom farming in the small fire station tower A19

Vertical mushroom farming in the small fire station tower A19

Love that mushrooms will grow on any surface. A friend used to be a volunteer firefighter and was saying they build these towers on all fire stations so that the firemen can test how they work at heights and practice stepping in and out of windows/ledges.

I have found a very different use for it in the apocalypse. I'm getting seriously in to farming for the first time in 7D. Can also add pictures of my roof farm if people are curious.
