Suggestion for a hybrid skill advancement system. Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:30 PM PDT Some people like the "do it to learn it" system where if you mine, you get better at mining, if you shoot a crossbow you get better at crossbows. Others like me prefer the current "everything gets you xp, spend it on what you like" system. I thought about a hybrid version that could maybe appeal to both sides. When you get XP it's split into 3 amongst attribute, skill and general xp. For example, you use a crossbow to shoot a zombie worth 600xp - 200 xp goes into Agility, 200 xp goes into crossbows and 200 xp goes into a general xp pool. Stats and skills raise when you reach certain xp levels and the general xp pool can be spent on any skills to raise them, either by granting points at certain levels or by allowing you to directly spend the xp. This would reduce the grindy nature of the "do it to learn it" system (remember the days of levelling up by crafting hundreds of stone axes?), while still giving a mostly natural progression in whichever skills you use the most. Posted: 15 Jun 2021 09:43 PM PDT So I just started playing this mod and was looking at the skill trees and everything ( I love that crafting is seperated from skills, but it does mean it takes a lot more points) and I noticed something about this mod. The Custom POIs, have insane amount of loot. Like my god, it takes forever to loot a single POI. I usually just spam trader quests but right next to the trader was a costco and it took me forever to loot and sell everything to the point that I even just left boxes unopened cause it was too much. I've barely progressed my trader quests cause I was not expecting multiple POIs in the same town to have Factory piles of loot. Why are the POIs in this mod so flooded with loot? I mean sure Im not getting super OP stuff because its A19 but damn man, I feel like I find goldmines every time and it gives a lot of exp. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jun 2021 10:21 AM PDT So, I keep getting the grudge screaming zombie like every two minutes, is it because I put a land claim down or? Because she wasn't around before I put my land claim down. [link] [comments]
Undead Legacy - how to get a clay brick? Posted: 15 Jun 2021 03:38 PM PDT I am stuck in a loop: I need clay bricks to make a furnace, but i need a furnace to make clay bricks. Is there something i can scrap to get them? I am using a Nitrogen custom map and there dont appear to be any working furnaces about. I guess that only leaves trader. [link] [comments]
Mod to make air drops more dangerous Posted: 15 Jun 2021 03:11 PM PDT Hi all! My question is pretty much in the title. I'm looking for a mod that'll make air drops more risky, but I haven't been able to find anything of the sort. Just something that spawns some zombies or a horde would be fine, ideally there'd be something that can spawn other survivors who want the loot too. Not sure if there's an overhaul that does this, but I haven't been able to find any standalone mods for it. Thanks for the advice! [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:32 PM PDT Dumb question I couldn't find the answer to on the wiki: is there a skill level that unlocks Marksman Rifle crafting? Or do I have to find the schematic? [link] [comments]
Local to Hosted Server Multiplayer RWG Save Game Migration Posted: 15 Jun 2021 02:14 PM PDT Hello all, I read many posts trying to figure out how to migrate a locally saved RWG map multiplayer game onto g-portal. This is my attempt to post what I found for anyone who tries this in the future. My guess is the setup will be similar for other game hosting providers. First, the local information you need is saved in your %appdata%. Once there go to the 7DaysToDie folder. The two folders you will be using are GeneratedWorlds and Saves. Set that file manager window aside. Now FTP into your server. G-portal will give you this info on the status page. If you don't have an FTP program already, FileZilla is a good option. It is here: https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1 ... use that link, otherwise the first link the site will send you too wants to install a bunch of bloatware with it. Ok, you've got an FTP program. Now connect using the FTP info on the status page (not the normal server info) and use the provided login, password, and port. This will give you a list of folders on the server (usually on the right side of the window). The first thing you need to do is go to the Data\Worlds folder on the server. Now, on your file manager view of the local information on your computer, go into GeneratedWorlds. You should find the name of your saved game world. Copy that entire folder into the Data\Worlds folder. There are probably other folders in there too, like Navezgane. If that's the world you're using, simply delete that folder on the server and copy yours over. Once your world is transferred to the server it is time to move your saved game. On your local computer, go back to the 7DaysToDie folder in %appdata% and copy the Saves folder, and paste it directly at the top level of your server (typically donated as a \ slash). If for some reason you already have a Saves folder on your server, open that up. Then open up the Saves folder on your local computer, find the map name folder that matches the map name your previously copied into the Data\Worlds folder, and copy that entire folder into the Saves folder on the server. Now you have the data transferred over it is time to get the server settings correct. This is the part that I had a hard time with. The settings you're looking for are Server name, Game name, AdminPassword, ServerVisibility, ServerPassword, WorldGenSize, WorldGenSeed, and GameWorld. The should look like this: Server name: What you want the game to appear as in the server list in-game Game name: The name of your save. If you don't remember, go to %appdata% on your local computer, then 7DaysToDie, then Saves, the name of your map, and the folder underneath that is the name of your save. AdminPassword: set this as the password to gain server admin control. Not 123456 ServerVisibility: leave this as public, many reports of bugs when not leaving it public. Which is why you need a.. ServerPassword: unless you want to let in the unwashed masses, set an access password. Not the same as your adminpassword. WorldGenSize: leave this as 4096. If you do everything else and you know you used a bigger map seed come back to this, but right now there are bugs where even larger maps won't load if this setting is changed, but will still load their correct larger size if you leave this setting alone at 4096. WorldGenSeed: the name of the map you loaded into the Data\Worlds folder. It should be the same as... GameWorld: also the name of the map you loaded into the Data\Worlds folder on the server. This is the setting that kicked my ass. If you haven't put your map in the Data\Worlds folder, your game's map won't be available as an option in the pull down menu. Now save all your settings and restart the server. If everything works, you should be able to go into Logs and see it loading. This can take a while, 15 minutes or more on the first load, so be patient. The server will be listed in Join a Game once it is ready. I hope this overly-detailed guide helps someone. Posted: 15 Jun 2021 01:06 PM PDT Hello, I don't know if there is someone active but I give nothing for trying I guess. So I am playing it with my brother local on xbox one x and there is not an option to build a forge. It's not possible to find it in the crafting list. Do I need to do something for the forge to appear on crafting list? Please if someone knows how to fix it. 🙏🏼 [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jun 2021 05:22 AM PDT Hello guys. Am I the only one who wants them to fix the ads crosshair? You can mess about in the files to delete it when you aim in but after relaunching the game it goes back to normal. I'd think this was something really easy to fix but I dont see people talking about it, idk why because it bugs me so much. What are your thoughts guys. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jun 2021 12:50 AM PDT Basically what the title says. I've been playing singleplayer all week on pc and having a blast. I finally decided to check out a couple online servers, but I never found any zombies roaming around outside. There were some inside buildings, but literally none outside anywhere. Is this how all online servers are, or did I just pick crappy servers? [link] [comments]
Player on my dedicated server is being kicked, and cannot open containers? Posted: 14 Jun 2021 11:29 PM PDT I have a small dedicated server for some friends and one person in the group has been having issues. They've been falling through the map, and cannot open containers -- any containers. Also, the game has decided to just kick them earlier tonight. They've tried validating steam files, uninstall/reinstall the game, killing themselves in game. They have the best PC and ping in the group, so I'm not sure what to do to help them. I'm afraid to edit the config file because the last time I did, to disable PVP, it ended up resetting the map. Any ideas of how to fix this? Thanks! [link] [comments]
