    Anyone know why my level 3 gardening perk is reduced to 2? It says "disabled by status effect" but my character shows no status effect.

    Underground Bases Do Work If You Do the Right Thing

    OK we all know the bedrock is closer to the surface in A17 so you can't exactly hunker down because the zombie AI will find you. And they smash through rocks quickly.

    That doesn't mean an underground base can't work. And it doesn't mean an underground base has to be basically the same as a surface base either.

    The thing to do is keep moving so the zombie AI never homes in on one location.

    I tend to dig down to bedrock in ramp-like angles rather than one straight ladder. After reaching bedrock I'll hollow out one room for crafting and another for mushroom farming.

    And then I keep burrowing.

    The hardest part is the first week, digging out enough tunnel that it forms a circuit of about 5 minutes of game time to walk. Afterward I expand it. By the second blood moon I have a circuit that takes about 15 minutes of game time to travel.

    And then Just. Walk.

    Depending on how you view it this is either brilliant or boring. The zombies do zero damage on blood moon nights. Nothing. Because they keep delaying action waiting for me to stand still. As long as I walk at a normal pace throughout the blood moon night, I'm fine. In fact the only reinforcement and defense I've had to put in near this base is because a zombie tried to dig down on a night that wasn't a blood moon while I was hanging out at the workbench. Am putting in a second entrance on day 16 of the current 17.2 PVE game because sometimes a horde lines up at the front door in the morning. But blood moons? Not. A. Problem.

    Of course on a PVP server you'd need other defenses against the humans. But that's a different conversation.

    Kind of hesitate to write this post because if the devs see it they might adjust for this--strongly suspecting they would call this an exploit. But this solution is so simple I can't be the only one to think of it.

    Question about night vision.

    Why is it useless? It wasnt that bad in a16 when it was blueish it helped a little for seeing at night. But now in a17 its back to the green and doesnt help at all.

    I like playing this game with gamma down to about 6 for a really spooky effect in pois, but I cant see shit even with night vision. I HAVE to use a flashflight helmet or its pitch black. I wanted to be a sneaky night vision ninja but its just not possible.

    And no I dont want to turn my gamma up. I really enjoy the darkness at times. Why tfp seem to make night vision useful. I just wasted about 4000 coins on day 7 for some goggles and I feel like it was a total waste.

    Is anyone else talking about this? I really wish night vision worked better. Thoughts?

    So, the game says that you find Lead ore in the forest area, and primarily around boulders. I live in the forest, and i've found coal, nitrate and iron, but no lead anywhere. Anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

    tl;dr: It doesn't matter where you go. The zombies know where you are. And they are coming.

    So my brothers and I have been playing and making our own mods and trying to survive on hard difficulties (last night was on Survivalist). So we found a house, surrounded it in two layers of improved flagstone blocks and when the blood moon hit we got wrecked. So we were going to build a tunnel straight down, then over so we have a covert way in/out and can build up the base more. Which then turned into "why don't we just live underground?" Sounded great - zombies must have some aggro range and limiting ability to hunt, and we got reallllllyyy far down (at least 50 tiles deep, I think it was closer to 75).

    In the first 4 hours of night on the second blood moon, a couple dogs glitched through the dirt and just appeared beside us - not a huge deal. Then we started noticing soil falling from our ceiling and got nervous af. (Our "underground base" was just a single hallway with cobblestone floors to stand on.) I dug out a spot on the side so my one brother could pass me and I was able to glitch the dirt and see up. It was probably the most terrifying scene I've had in 7D2D - like 7 zombies (4 green ones, radioactive?) were somewhere on our ladder system, they went through from dirt on the side. And then there were about 40 zombies right above us, maybe 5 tiles away. *panic*

    I dropped two flagstone blocks in the middle of the hallway so we could at least do some damage before dying horribly. But I miscalculated and there hole was on our side of it, so now we have no way out. So we insta-died there, but on the plus side there were no zombies up top at the house so respawn was fine. I dropped down their hole out of curiosity, the first half knocked me to 4 hp from 100 and broke a leg, managed to hit rocks to land on the rest of the way down to live and grab my bag (after waiting until daylight).

    Difficulty setting questions?

    So me and a few friends played on hardest difficulty 2 years ago and didn't have any problems.

    We recently started a new game to try all the changes to the game on max difficulty. Day 7 came we expected a few climbers. What we got was nuts the vomiters the glowing dudes and a bunch of the buff(feral?) Dudes. We got destroyed.

    What settings nowadays should we use we like the 250% dmg to us and 25% to zombies but a day 7 of stuff we got on day 28/35 last run is too much. We aren't veterans.

    Is there anyway to keep the dmg values but tone down the day 7 to instead of 28/35 equivalent to maybe 14/21.

    Also how does the setting for spawns based off players work if only 1 person is on at 8 spawns will a blood moon only have 8 zombies? Or are these added on to base blood moon spawns.

    Also why on nightmare speed can we out run zombies is it lag from multiplayer. Because I remember not outrunning shit last time I played.

    Reset bloodmoon for single player game?

    Before the 7 day horde, I was playing around with settime and accidentally jumped up to day 67 I think it was. I set it back to day 7 @6am and the Day 7 number isn't red in the GUI and the bloodmoon never came. I played up to day 14 and it didn't come there either. I cannot find any commands to reset the bloodmoon counts. Anyone know of a way to reset?

    What Day Did You Find The Forge BP

    I read and saw many videos and it's sad that Z's became driller with crazy damage output on blocks!

    A normal base is completely pointless now. I saw a guy that used the half block cheese to make the Z's think that its full so they will fall, rinse and repeat lol. That guy made a 7 block high and 1 block large maze (straight to hit them with ease) and used two half block to make z's fall, sadly some z's can bypass it when they are too many lol.

    In my version i have two hole that trick zombies and make them fall and was working good in do not letting them reach me, it failed cause was made of lv1 wood and they destroyed some ramps so couldnt reach me and attacked the pillar of the hole lol(actually i survived it since i used the part of it reachable to kill jump and redo)... What i am thinking now is to make 2 maze-corridor but open one of them at a set time so when the first maze get broken i can put the half block on other one and they won't destroy pillar :D Problem is: what will happen once cops arrive? Total destruction?

    I am a SP and always Hardcore one life only. Idk if i should use trader cause it feels like cheating with perks etc.

    Ps: i really enjoy to melee or bow the enemy head, that's why i don't spend points on that! I got quite strong in bashing em all lol.
