Player A17 with friends after a year break was terrifying, but that's what makes it so wonderful. Posted: 19 Jun 2019 07:28 AM PDT My friends and I hadn't played the game since alpha 12 over a year ago and we stopped playing because it got a little too easy. So we jumped back in recently after hearing about all the big changes and we start it up new game. The only settings we changed away from default what are the XP share distance and we made the days as long as possible, everything else was default. So casually for the last week we've been building a base, gathering, supplies and getting ready for day 7 blood moon horde. Based off our knowledge from before we thought we were plenty ready.... We were wrong... as soon as that howl began we could see more than just a horde coming into view. All the regular zombies, but some green ones mixed in, all hurtling towards our landclaim as if shot through a cannon. We immediately opened fired, trying to thin it out as much as possible, and for a couple seconds we thought we could do this. As soon as they got to the house they made quick work if our defenses in the yard and quickly plaster themselves across the side of the house all trying to get to the door. Looking out our murder holes it didn't matter if we aimed or not, it would have been impossible not to hit a zombie. We were doing our best to protect the door, trying to kill the zombies at it and repair it, but at one point all three of us together trying to repair our double door system was not fast enough. They didn't even give us time to think about retreat, as soon as those doors failed we were swarmed, smashed against the wall by the sheer force of them filling up the room. We did our best to retreat to the panic room... The survivers that got there finally found out that our room design actually worked and began blasting the zombies through the security of a hanging metal cage, but it didn't take long for the zombies to realize that they couldn't get up there and so decided to destroy the house entirely. You could see them swarming the walls, floors, anything that they can get their hands on that was immediately around the cage. That terrifying display of destruction lasted for about a real world minute until they brought the support beams for that cage down, crashing on the house. The only thing we could think of to do was to head for the nearest lake and wait out the night. We were barely fast enough, but only because the zombies decided to destroy any structure between us and them on the way. Docks, boats, lake houses, and just random things that we happened to run by. It took us all night bobbing up and down in the water taking potshots at the zombies who don't know how to swim in order to finally get rid of them all. It was legitimately terrifying night, and after it was all said and done, it was wonderful. I'm still baffled on why so many zombies spawned, because I did not increase the settings. The only thing I can think of is that it was a horde for each of us now smashed together since we were all together... [link] [comments]
Killing corridor return path addition or better build in general Posted: 19 Jun 2019 08:57 PM PDT I'm a solo player so the killing corridor is one of the few early game options I have to survive without gutting a POI which I don't like to do. I enjoy building a base and upgrading over time. The killing corridor is simple enough but I wanted to add a "catch and return" path for the zombies caught inside to prevent any damage to supports as they path by If the running level is block 6 high and I added a platform on block 3 under the drop that reaches from the drop point to the ramp entering the corridor in theory would that work ? I imagine the initial swarm could attempt to reach the return pathway since it's possible to reach if stacking but it doesn't offer a path to me so I imagine they would ignore it Else, is there a more eye friendly solo base that can be built early ?(no blade traps or electricity needed) I don't particularly enjoy large hulking structures im a fan of compact clean and simple [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Jun 2019 12:32 AM PDT So now when i dig under my base to make myself a personal mine to get some coal, nitrate powder, lead, and other materials, i find myself unable to find any, bc before in my old world, i used to be able to find all kinds of stuff left and right when mining. Did they change it? Did they get rid of ore underground, or am i just unlucky? And what should i do to help myself to get some materials (besides finding it above ground) [link] [comments]

I never see anyone talk about this Posted: 19 Jun 2019 07:33 AM PDT When ever me and my friend play and go on a long trip and don't feel like walking back we pull out glass shards or a blood draw kit to get home faster. We know it lowers our wellness but it beats walking and wasting fuel in our mini bikes. We have it set to only drop our hot bar when we die. [link] [comments] |
