    8. Sometimes terrain appears grey changing any video option setting will correct this.
    9. Occasionally when generating a new random gen world textures can be blurry. Restarting the game will fix this.
    10. When you encounter massive FPS drops, please try setting texture streaming to "ON"
    11. Russian & turkish systemlanguage may interfere with gameplay, switching systemlanguage to english in the meantime will resolve this

    Personal feedback on A18 Experiment

    I am pretty shocked with how Demolisher Zombie could easily break up my base. 5 rectangular rows of Iron Spikes and Electrical Fences used to be my best bet until 100 days, but those things become useless with the arrival of the Demolishers.

    I already know that I have to eliminate him by shooting his torso, where a C4 attatched on him. It seems like the decs reduced lags greatly on A18, but still I cannot deliver them a clear shot on the specific area. (I know I am a terrible shooter but lags are different story.)

    Demolishers seems like destroying 3x3x3 blocks around him when on his suicidal attack. Electricity Fence seems like stunning him but it still can't stop him detonating himself. "Rocket" with HE ammo can kill him but I had to use 4 ammo for one guy. ("Scavenger" difficulty).

    In conclusion, this patch made easy-going players like me hard to survive even in the early stage on easy difficulties. Not only because of the Demolisher but also the change of perk system. Why do I need strength to learn cooking skills?!

    RWG taking forever to generate new maps?

    So, friends and I get a dedicated server from PingPerfect and while normally fine, this new Friday patch now takes ~45min to generate an 8k map, and even then hangups and messages like 'server is still being made', or in the console: "2019-10-12T00:17:21 9.904 INF WorldGenerator:Generating Detail Data" for a terribly long time.

    is this normal? or steps to go around, fixing it?

    Motor Tool Parts (A18)

    Where are we supposed to get parts for chainsaws / augers

    We're at the point of building a 4x4 and only have 2 motor tool parts

    In other version we would have some finished power tools already no matter how crappy they were, we've cleared out almost two entire cities which probably add up to 50+ poi's so if looting is the answer then it's the wrong answer. Could it be location or vendors ?

    A18 - Ammo stacks

    Cutting 9mm down to 300 per stack instead of 500? Yeah, stinks, but reasonable.

    7.62 down from 500 to 150, though? C'mon, TFP.

    Shotgun shells at 150 per stinks also but no worse than the 9mm stacks.

    I'm guessing they hit 7.62 hard to keep folks from having mountains of ammo for those new M60s. Course I could look into modifying config files if I wanted to, but the idea is to play it as devs intend and provide feedback. That said, I should get my account set up for their forum.

    A18 Weapon Crafting Feedback

    Overall I like A18 but I'm torn on the new crafting. The problem with the new crafting is that it takes too long to get the parts you need and it requires the very thing you're looking for. On top of that the loot you find is almost always better than what you can craft, usually better than the next quality up of what you can craft. Even worse if you skill into your weapon perk for the damage bonuses constantly the part cost keeps increasing, making it hard to even craft a weapon at all if you invest heavily and early. I did a pure agility build where I could not craft a bow, at all, until day 24. My parts requirement kept rising faster than the number of parts I could obtain. By that point I had already found quality 4 of numerous weapons including both a bow and crossbow. My crafted bow/crossbow, when they happened, were much worse than the looted ones I had found.

     

    This leads crafting weapons in A18 to feel pretty underwhelming.

     

    My suggestion for weapon crafting: At 3/5 skill in a weapon perk, let us craft weapon parts for our chosen T2 weapons.

    I'm ok with the schematic only weapons being a hunt for parts for them, but T2 is the baseline experience and your crafted weapons are 100% going to get replaced by far superior looted version anyways. Looted weapons are usually equal to 1-2 quality level higher crafted weapons. Cost for crafting parts could be forged iron + more rare stuff like glue/springs/mechanical parts based on weapon type crafted at a workbench.

     

    *Edit: Specifically you should be able to craft parts for the hunting rifle, the double barrel shotgun, the pistol, the wooden bow, the iron crossbow, and the AK at 3/5 in their respective skills. Intellect should be able to craft parts for both of it's weapon at 3/5 skill since the junk turret requires you to be Intellect 8 to reach 3/5.

    i cant even maintain solid 30 fps on the lowest settings outdoor ( while in door the fps jumps to 100+)

    i know my GPU is kinda meh (r9 380) but in a17 i could easily maintain 60 fps at decent settings

    About stun batons spawn rate...

    For the record this is the latest experimental for alpha 18

    Are these supposed to be rare? It's day four and my group of three has FIVE, one of which is good quality. These are new to me as I haven't played in a bit and we've been having a great deal of fun with them, but I have to wonder if we're supposed to have all of these.

    We have default loot spawnrate and we haven't left our small western town, is this normal?

    PSA: [A18 b139] if you can't use electrical blocks or modify clothes, try switching regional format to English (United States) in Windows

    If you have regional settings other that English (United States), you will probably get a console "FormatException: unknown char" error message when trying to use a generator, a battery bank, or modify clothes (not armor).

    I did some tests today, and found out that if you switch regional format (not language) in Windows to English (United States), the problem goes away.

    The game client must be restarted though.

    Horde of zombie dogs in A18

    While exploring in forest biome the morning after blood moon, I was rushed by a horde zombie dogs.

    It literally looked like a sea of dogs and devoured my fps.

    Was this prevalent in a17.4? I had only played that alpha a few weeks before jumping into a18.
