- 7 Days to Die is a synthesis of the best features of great games. I admit I'm biased, but to me, it is THE best zombie game out there.
- I hope the Pimps hire professional writers for the story elements
- Steams recent reviews are now mostly positive since A18 went stable!
- Snall stones
- People who have both schematics and perks for an item should have appropriate bonus.
- Know where to find pumpkins?
- Base thread with PICS
- The best part of this for me was that I was riding around, wrenching cars specifically to get gas. Thanks, random gen!
- Friendly Fire Memorial Hospital made in my 7 Days To Die base. The hospital is dedicated to how many times my friend Dan has killed me via friendly fire.
- Why does forcing anisotropic filtering off in the driver give such a huge fps boost?

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 08:53 AM PDT Let's think on this for a second. Is there any other game with the same level of open world creativity as 7D2D? There's nearly as much freedom and possibility as there is in Minecraft. You can destroy or build nearly anything you come across. Is there any other zombie game with the same level of survival and RPG elements? 7D2D's survival requirements are quite basic, but still rival that of DayZ and State of Decay. Hunger, thirst, infection, bodily damage, base defense, skill development. Is there any other zombie game with the same level of enemy diversity and tactics? 7D2D has more zombie types than Dying Light, and they're more challenging foes as well. Zombies, brutes, super zombies, wolves, bears, vultures, and they are all strategic in their spawn locations and AI to keep you on your feet. They also can destroy the environment themselves to reach you, which was a brilliant choice! Is there any other game with the same potential for diverse teams? You and your friends can each focus on medic skills, base defense skills, or varying attack skills, forming a team. The only games with similar possibilities that come to mind are games like TF2, LoL, Overwatch, things that nearly entirely rely on team mechanics as gameplay. All these incredible features, and yet, it's just one game. Everything is in one piece, and it works. Aside from some performance issues, a small lack of customization options for gameplay, and a forgivably dated graphics, 7 Days to Die is my favorite zombie game of all time. I feel it most accurately represents what a zombie apocalypse would be like, and that experience is something people have been craving to replicate for themselves since Night of the Living Dead created the modern idea of zombies. We don't need a real zombie apocalypse to have fun and live out that dream. We have this game. [link] [comments]
I hope the Pimps hire professional writers for the story elements Posted: 27 Oct 2019 05:57 AM PDT They hired dedicated level designers and look what happened - literally hundreds upon hundreds of unique PoI's to explore, all of them a little self contained dungeon, all a lot of fun bringing huge value to the game. The stuff the level designers have done with the blocks available is pretty amazing. It all just looks and feels so great. They should take the same approach to story and quests and outsource it to some people with serious experience who know what they're doing. If the quests and dialogue end up being even half as great as the level design, 7DTD will be extremely popular on release. [link] [comments]

People who have both schematics and perks for an item should have appropriate bonus. Posted: 27 Oct 2019 11:14 AM PDT People are repeatedly commenting on how frustrated they are due to how randomized the progression is, and how disappointing it feels for them to invest in a perk only to find the schematics for it 5 minutes later. I think it could be made so that people with perks could benefit with schematics too. For example, if you have a perk and a schematic at the same time, you could do 10% more damage with the said weapon. People without schematics could still learn to make them and utilize them. If you want to specialize in the field, because say you like your new found weapon so much, you can invest in related perks and do so much better! If you already invested perks into them, finding schematics are not a disappointing experience, but rather a bonus, so you'd be happy! So finding new schematics is always a win for you:
In A18, i read that stats on items are slightly randomized, while crafted items have fixed stats. Perhaps schematics could provide bonus to these stats. It also makes sense, since you "inventing" things by yourself through skills and having the actual schematics of the modern world are two very different things that can help improve one another. For Crafting stations, the bonus could improve crafting speed and efficiency. The accessary parts that goes into the crafting stations (such as crucibles and all) should have seperate schematic bonuses that is specific to them. For vehicles, the bonus could improve movement speed of the said vehicle, and improve fuel cost efficiency (stamina for bikes). Physician could also have similar bonuses; the bandages, pills and all could get bonuses on usage. Some perks such as yeah science just opens up recipes, which makes them useless in the long term. With recipes and perks, perhaps you should have reduced production costs. Finally, should they implement this, having lower tier items bonus with schematics makes them stronger. So maybe tier 3 items should get a slight buff to adjust to general rise in lower tier item quality. What do you think? [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Oct 2019 05:50 PM PDT https://i.imgur.com/Efllx3R.jpg This is the design I've been using for a little while now, it's day 7 doable and has a lot of good points I think. https://i.imgur.com/TGKud0D.jpg Minimum of 5x5, but 7-9 is better. https://i.imgur.com/ppzyovO.jpg Crafting/storage deck goes on first floor and crops on top of that https://i.imgur.com/PwsMFm0.jpg Recommended building on a large flat area with good LOS. Reasonably cheap to start, only needs 150 ish cobblestone blocks and wood, if you're doing well you can quickly upgrade to flagstone and then concrete It's much easier to kill zombies face to face than from a few blocks above, and with this base you can use guns or melee fairly safely. You can upgrade with spikes or a moat, but i prefer it clean. I don't know what an exploding demo zombie might do to this base but I imagine it'd be bad. Dogs and spiders can be a pain, often you need to get up close to see over the blocks in order to hit them. The bottom row could be made from posts for better visibility, but you're really inviting zombies to clip through it. [link] [comments]

Why does forcing anisotropic filtering off in the driver give such a huge fps boost? Posted: 27 Oct 2019 08:58 AM PDT In every other game it has such a negligible impact yet here your looking at atleast 30fps. [link] [comments]

Can someone tell me which block this is? Posted: 27 Oct 2019 05:48 PM PDT I'm trying to replace a destroyed piece, but I can't figure out what block it is. I've searched the build menus, the wiki, and the web, and I got nothing. https://i.imgur.com/YZVEeEC.jpg [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Oct 2019 09:10 PM PDT So, I am perplexed. Every so often, the commands I give from my keyboard will just lock up. I can't move, I can't open items, I can't "Esc"... nothing for several seconds, at times, a minute or so. The mouse works during this time, so I can look around, and use the item in hand (fortunate if weapon and being attacked), but nothing from the keyboard. And yes, I've changed the batteries in the keyboard. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it seems to be when I am driving, or in my base primarily, especially accessing the forge. This has been an issue since A18 Experimental released. Any ideas? Thanks!!! [link] [comments]
Regarding the state of the console build. Posted: 27 Oct 2019 08:47 PM PDT So with the recent news from the fun pimps about the console build not receiving attention due to it being to tedious to deal with Sony and Microsoft and too expensive , maybe they should just leave it where it is and lower the price , or make one last update for it add some new things and optimize it as much as possible for console hardware and than stop supporting major updates just bug fixes. I say this as some one who started off as a console player and migrated to PC but still play console sometimes. I think it'll be better for the fun pimps as a whole if they do not have to divide their attention to two different builds. [link] [comments]

How to make an empty flat map? Posted: 27 Oct 2019 04:05 PM PDT I'd like to make a perfectly flat and also empty map for building experimentation and what not. Saw on a Steam post: "From the main menu go Editing Tools/World Editor/Playtesting" Sadly that map does not exist. [link] [comments]
