Darkness Falls Appreciation ❤️ Posted: 04 Jul 2020 02:13 PM PDT Just an appreciation for Darkness Falls and Khaine. The mod is so deep and intense and has so, so many added aspects to the base vanilla game. I used to love True Survival and Ravenheart but Darkness Falls hands down is the best mod for 7 days to die. Any solutions to 7daystodie's base defense problem? Posted: 04 Jul 2020 01:13 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm a huge 7daystodie fan. My friend group plays every large patch. We typically do our own balance patches to make the game harder and more interesting. The core part of looting, crafting, building and leveling feels good every time but the part where it falls apart is the defense. We try to make rules like "You can't abuse the AI with complex building" but at the end of the day you're not really defending anything. Essentially you can ride a bike in circles around the base, avoid zombies and just wait till the bloodmoon is over. There's no repercussions for failing to defend a blood moon and nothing to defend that's worthwhile? On our end if there was something we needed to protect with a consequence if you fail I think we'd have way more purpose. Let's say if the zombies breach a certain sector or destroy a part of our base the game ends. I could see it being more interesting, I'm not saying to implement those specific things I want just trying to illustrate the problem and see if there are any community solutions out there. I really wanna play this game but its too spooky Posted: 04 Jul 2020 07:18 AM PDT im not even like a young kid, im in my mid teens this shit is freaky man, idk its just spooky. like i tried playing it yesterday and i was looting the 2nd house i saw paranoid as shit and i get out of the cubbored hear breathing down my neck and instantly get growled at and slashed by a fat woman zombie, then im walkin' and i see zombies roamin around which i evade and kill, then i get attacked by some vultures, i try and look up what to do next and then i see these mf's run at night full sprint, and i just logged. New Loot Progression Smoothing (A19) Posted: 04 Jul 2020 06:04 PM PDT I am starting to feel like I should not loot the nice chests and crates until I have gotten my game state a bit higher. Is there a small, tiny chance at good stuff still? I cannot tell... it seems like a hard cap to me that you literally cannot get a higher tier item too soon in the game? Obviously my experience is anecdotal, I could just have bad loot luck. (I have tried games starting with lucky looter up to 4 first and games without and neither seems to help). So I started a seed on A19, and at night I am noticing that all the zombies seem to be jogging. I don't know if I just have such luck that there are only feral zombies near my base at night, or if there is a bug where settings such as zombies walk at night is not functioning correctly. Even with cement blocks as support it's still not working. I'm wondering if anyone else has been having this issue? Is it a bug or are we just super bad at the game? Edit: 5th try worked. Posted: 04 Jul 2020 06:52 PM PDT A18 never ran "great" on my system, probably 25-35 FPS outdoors and 50+ FPS indoors. It was always very consistent and didn't vary much, just was a bit on the slow side but I like having settings rather high. However, on A19 it's not consistent at all and I haven't really been able to figure it out. I've been trying to tweak my settings to get it just right, but outdoors, performance is rather bad, only getting around 10-20 FPS most of the time and sometimes it dips below 10 fps and is a slideshow that is unplayable. Indoors isn't an issue unless I look out windows on a 2nd (or higher) story building. The performance seems worse in the mornings on the game and in the evenings. Sometimes if I close out the game and open it back it, the performance will be better for a short period. I'm starting to think my vRAM is my issue as it is close to 100% used (and the GPU is also at 100% most of the time playing) which would make sense due to the higher resolution textures. Anyone else noticing lower performance? This is my system: Intel i7 6700K (stock 4.0 Ghz with TurboBoost disabled) If I drop down to 1080P, the performance improves, but instead of my GPU being the bottle neck, my CPU seems to become the bottleneck as my GPU performance drops down to around 80% and my CPU jumps up to near 100% on all cores (It's normally close to 70% on 1440P) I'm due for an upgrade for sure... as this system is close to 6 years old now (I preordered most of the parts and bought on release) but was hoping I could squeeze a little more life out of this thing. Then to further realize even if you use the creative menu to place one it doesn't let you access/use it. Is this a bug in the experimental, or is something wrong with the seed I am using? I have changed the Mother Lode line from: <passive\_effect name="HarvestCount" operation="perc\_add" level="1,5" value=".2,1" tags="oreWoodHarvest"/> to <passive\_effect name="HarvestCount" operation="perc\_add" level="1,5" value=".6,3" tags="oreWoodHarvest"/> To get from 20%->40%->60%->80%->100%toSo that the levels go like this 60%->120%->180%->240%->300% Ore/Material bonus gain When I joined my server it didn't change the numbers, it just showed the original perk modifier like nothing ever happenedDo you guys know what might be the issue? Did I edit the wrong file?
