    Instances with Themed Areas

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 09:12 PM PDT

I wish this game would introduce instances. Like an amusement park, or maze like sewers, or a shopping centre, or zombie zoo. I'd pay for the extra content.

Is it possible to make custom cities?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 08:33 AM PDT

I want to live in a mega city, but the random gen cities don't really flow together and the cities in Navezgane are small. I would like to know if I can create my own custom city with POIs of my choice. Can this be done?

Why does the Auger sound like bullet ricochet? (A19)

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 08:06 PM PDT

Just got an auger in A19 and started to mine, but it sounds like a warzone when I drill! Any ideas to fix the drill sound?

    The new Injury System

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 10:53 AM PDT

I have mixed feelings on the new injury system. On one hand it makes the game harder which is nice. On the other it is super punishing early game when you don't have the resources to actively treat all of them. Dogs for me are the worst early game enemy right now especially if one manages to break your leg.

The devs seem to have an issue with player choice.

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 10:11 PM PDT

I've played 7 days to die since around the time of alpha 10 steadily over the years, and come back to it from time to time. I've logged around a little over 250 hours into the game, which is quite a lot for me. But one thing that's erked me for a while, and that's really hit home with me in the most recent Alpha 19 update, is that the devs seem really focused on making you play the game a certain way.

7 days to die, is, at it's core a sandbox game. Yet at this point, I don't even see it that way. Because in 7 days to die player agency has become just as dead as the zombies that inhabit it. You used to have all kinds of options to play the game. It was, primarily, a building game more than it was a survival game. Your goal was to build a base that can withstand the horde. The base you can make is important. However, base building has been gutted like a fish. Underground sprawling bases? Not anymore, because the zombies are now equipped with augers instead of hands. Moats are pretty much useless at this point. Zombies can make paper out of concrete bases before demolish were introduced, but it has mostly exasperated it. Now either pillbox up and loose a ton of resources because your base is gonna need a whole new makeover, or, exploit the AI which a ton of players have opted for instead(and I don't blame them).

Another thing that I'd like to take note of is, the player must interact with the trader if they want to be even close to optimal for several reasons. First, even after the huge investment a player must make into a skill points, they will never be able to make quality 6 parts. They either must A: find it or B: Buy it. The second thing is some things are trader exclusive. Can't craft it no matter how you level. Forcing you to play how the devs want instead of giving you multiple options to explore.

Another thing I feel inclined to talk about it Hord night, because it is one of the most egregious examples of the devs forcing you to play the way they want you to. Either set up a base the way we want or die. Player wants to opt out and make a run for it on a vehicle? Too bad, the devs decided Vultures had Mexican food last night because their asses are now rocket propelled if you even think about touching anything with a motor and wheels. It's silly.

    There's other examples as well.

Also unrelated about this specific post but can we talk about in the A19 change logs they announced that driving would increase hunger consumption rate? Like why?

7 Days to Die Pro Husband & Noob Wife EP5: YAY HORDE!!!!

Question - How do any of you have defense bases without gaping craters?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 03:17 PM PDT

Okay I started in A18 and made it to ~60 before A19, we're about there again. My friends and I are, to put it lightly, babbling idiots. We have neat ideas though, but the "Sarge" zombies (no clue what they're really called, just the arbitrary nickname we have given them based on aesthetics) that start showing up on blood moons at like 35 fuck up structures every time with their self-destructive, beep-beep bitch chaos. How on earth do I see spotless self defense rigs that are on like, day 80? How arent they cheese? Those explosions couldn't be fucked to care less about concrete and shit, they're beefy as fuck and can march past spinning blades while getting gunned down, they're dicks.

We have a 2 base system, for what its worth. "Home" works well as underground nonsense with like 8 forges, 4 chem stations and 8 workbenches constantly rolling. Auto Shotguns and SMGs upstairs as well as a switch we can flip to turn on a ton of blades when we hear a screamer up there to shut her up. We've at least nailed peaceful mass production. It's just the defense base we have like 500m away from "home" for blood moons that is never long for the world. Its always a rebuilding project and never an expansion project.

What's the secret I've failed to grasp for dealing with these abominations against god?

    Roof building

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:09 AM PDT

I'm a pretty new player that is just starting to get my base figured out. I won't bore you with all the details, but I have a traditional rectangle footprint building for my crafting stuff. I want to do a pitched roof but can't figure out how to do it. I've tried incline, gable, hip roof, etc. Any secret to this, or a guide that is relevant? Thanks
