Just 7 Days Things (Storytime) Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:02 PM PST After a few days where our schedules didn't line up, our group finally got together for horde night. We always shoot for horde nights with 4+ people because it's fun and chaotic. I had built up a bridge base over several weeks with the zombies running up the side supports to attack. During it's first run, we failed because we didn't plan well enough and were all rushing back to base as the horde started. Next run, we had a very clean horde night having good weapons, multiple layers of wall and great teamwork. We saw maybe 2 demolishers and handled them fine. Going into this Horde night, I'd say we were a bit cocky. We have a new player joining with us who only played console before. Well first wave and we get a demolisher which he shoots not knowing what is about to happen. Traps get taken out. All of the sudden there's more and more of them. As we start panicking, more and more lights turn red. The top half of one side of the bridge is now blown away so they all run to the other side. One of us is up top shooting down and throwing moltovs as well as dealing with birds. We see more demolishers, I panic as I swing my club and see another red light of doom. One corner is blown away with just a iron hatch standing between the zombies and us. Luckily, this makes a great shooting hole so we can aim for legs and not chests. Four of the five of us die during the horde night but we make it through. Afterwards, we survey the damage. Many pieces are missing and it's obvious that it's not going to make it another horde night, even if we were to repair it. So we decide to take what we have and move on from our beloved base. This isn't our main base where we keep our loot so it shouldn't take long. As my allies start taking items from the chests and workstations upstairs, I begin to disassemble the traps that haven't been destroyed and start to remove relays and lights from the walls. As my allies are taking items from the chests and transporting them down to the vehicles, I'm removing what seems inconsequential but I see no reason not to take them. That is until I remove a light and see blocks starting to break. Then there's a big hole, the ceiling is caving in, everything from the floor above is starting to come down until I follow my teammates out of the imploding base, breaking my leg on the fall down. That my friends, is how I lost chests of items, multiple workstations, and level 6 batteries by removing a light. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Nov 2020 07:36 PM PST I want to try making a different base and this would be a crucial part so would it work? [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Nov 2020 04:48 PM PST How do i place the SMG turret to be safe, but at the same time reach the zombies? can it aim vertical? so i can place it higher than the ground floor? the cone shown when placing the turrets feel misleading, i placed an auto turret and it showed a narrow cone where it would aim, but when i activated it, it coverd 90 degrees [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Nov 2020 01:00 PM PST So were on a pvp server and were building a big base (being underground is boring after a while), imagine a big wall protecting us from people walking to the base as easy, but how do we stop gyros landing in? I've heard that rebar frames will destroy a gyro that lands on it but is that true? [link] [comments]
Looking to start a new game with someone. Posted: 25 Nov 2020 10:43 AM PST Anyone interested? My friends that do have this game are bored of it. [link] [comments]

Restarting a dedicated Ubuntu server Posted: 25 Nov 2020 08:21 AM PST Noob question, I have a private dedicated server running on Ubuntu. Currently have the game running in a screen session, If I need to make amendments to game settings such as loot % in the serverconfig.xml, how do I gracefully restart so game loads back as it was before shutdown/restart? Posted: 25 Nov 2020 09:54 AM PST My friend and I are at day 70. We have runaway food production, overflowing with materials, and are crafting L5 weapons. Aside from the built-in difficulty settings, and changing the frequency of horde night, are there any mods you can recommend to make the game more challenging? More randomly-wandering Zs for example? Things are far too quiet. [link] [comments] |
