The base was sound... (pretty easy settings) but the mechanic of the zombies bumping each other into the blades was a nice touch I didn't expect.

    Auto Shotgun Trap Glitch

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:09 PM PDT

Me and my friend were messing around in a world yesterday until I jokingly shot my friend with the automatic shotgun turret using the camera view, while I was in the view he killed me with his shot gun and due to his low health, he decided to kill himself with the camera view to reset his health. When we both respawned, neither one of us could interact with anything except doors, we tried everything, destroy the turret, restart the server, dying multiple times but to no avail. I'm wondering if there's a way to fix this bug or is our game completely broken.

I spend 20+ minutes looking for a screamer...

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:36 PM PDT

Middle of the night and I'm in my stronghold. (Fortified the motel POI) Smelting, gunpowder-ing, crafting. Usual stuff.

(I'm playing with the (X16) Zombie gen mod, and no BloodMoons)

A couple of wandering z's come by. They make noise, they get capped. Then I hear a screamer. No problem. Flick on my NVGs go outside. Nothing.

Go up to the roof. Nothing.
Go into the second floor. This is my kill zone. Openings on the bottom, second floor cut away. They come in the bottom and get shot from above. Nothing here either.
Go down to the ground floor. Nothing.
    Still hear the screamer. WTF?
I go down in my mine, under the motel office. Screamer sounds louder. Cool. Search the (w)hole mine. Nothing.

Actually go up to my third floor and check my bedroom. Just in case. Nothing.

Now I'm confused. Maybe it's a glitch. I'm getting ready to bail out and reload, when I turn off my NVGs.

    FFS!!!

    The. Bitch. Dug. A. Hole.

    Cue up Mr. PipeBomb....

    Stats Configuration

    Stats Configuration

Hello. I've been a small-time player of this community since A16ish era---started on A16, but it soon switched over to A17, not even a day or so later xD---and never really bothered with full-time dedication with the game, but now I've found time for greater dedication to the game, and I'm questioning as to how to configure stats as shown in a steam screenshot shown here:

I would try to ask the person myself, but a few key details kind of scream I might need a language class or two.

How a Vehicle Update would look in 7 Days to Die.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:19 AM PDT

How a Vehicle Update would look in 7 Days to Die.

7 Days to Die is supposed to be a Realistic Simulation of what Post-Apocalyptic would look like. Keeping that in mind, one would notice that the Vehicles are not quite fitting in. In typical fashion of 7DTD all features are quickly put in, to be polished in some later update once they fill in more important parts of the game. This is obviously the case with the vehicles. This post is made by a long lasting 7DTD enthusiast (and also a car guy obviously). Here I have a few ideas that could be added to the game.

Before beggining, I am aware that there is an update coming to add some vehicle mods and possible make some vehicle changes, but im here to add a full-on, vanilla friendly, overhaul. They have also stated that they arent going to add any new vehicles, but I feel like these features can be added without standing out.

    Crafting the Vehicles

For a realistic game, the crafting of these vehicles seems quite out of place. Crafting a 4x4 in a Workbench then carrying it in your bag really makes no sense. This is where the Vehicle Workstation is added in. In the Vehicle Workstation you are able to craft, repair and modify all vehicles. The only vehicles you can craft in the Workbench, will be the Bicycle and Minibike, while the rest are now only craftable in this new Workstation. These station are unlockable at level 5 of Greese Monkey and require around 200 Forged Steel, along other parts to craft. In other words its really hard to craft one. So, the way an early level player would craft a better vehicle would be to find the Vehicle Workstation on a Gas station or any car related structure. By making this small change, an extra layer of difficulty is added in the game, while it enforces base development and a more interactive gameplay with the enviroment.

How the Vehicle Workstation could look like

Going on exactly how to craft vehicles, I will give off an example, by showing you how to craft an 4x4.

To craft an 4X4 you would need:

    • 4X4 Chassis
    • 4X4 Accessories (spikes at front not included)
    • Wheels
    • Battery
    • Engine
    • Suspension
    • Windows

The Vehicle Workstation's Layout would be quite similar with the Workbench. You will need to have created the rest of the parts before getting to craft the 4x4. After having everything ready, you will be able to see the parts added, one by one, on the Workstation as you wait for the Vehicle to finish. After completing it, you drive it away.

    Taking Damage

Now, the Damage a vehicle takes, is locational. It is based on what damages you and where. Here are all the parts that are able to take damage:

    • Chassis. Takes damage when an entity hits it, or if the driver runs over anything.
    • Headlight. Takes damage when the driver runs over anything.
    • Engine. Takes damage when an entity hits it, or if the driver runs over anything.
    • Wheels. Only takes damage from bullets or arrows.
    • Spikes(if added). If installed will take damage instead of the Chassis, Headlight and Engine when running over anything.
    • Suspension. Takes damage when falling from a high place.

Note: Getting run over vehicles now does a lot more damage.

    Repairing your vehicles

There is one main rule in repairing things now. Repairing it on the Workstation will save you a lot more resources. You can otherwise repair on the go, when using right click with the scrapping tools. Here is a list of what happens when a part breaks:

    • Chassis. Chassis can only be repaired at the Workstation(unless it is a Bicycle or a Minibike). If completely broken, the vehicle cannot move. The only thing the player could do is simply scrap the vehicle and make a new one (You would get 100% of the rest of the parts, only the Chassis would grant you less resources). This forces the player to be much more aware of when their vehicle is about to break.
    • Headlight. Can be replaced by having another Headlight. Until fixed, the Headlight will simply not work.
    • Engine. The engine can be repaired by first holding E and pressing Open Car Hood. They would then use up a repair kit to fix it. If the engine is completely broken, they would need to install a new one.
    • Wheels. Introducing a new item: The Scissor Jack. When you want to replace a flat tire, you would use the Scissor Jack to raise the car, by holding E and pressing Replace Wheel. A vehicle can drive with flat tires, but would drive much slower, lose control easier and slowly take damage at the chassis.
    • Spikes. Spikes cannot be broken completely. They can be simply be repaired by any repairing tool, using forged iron.
    • Suspension. Can only be repaired on a Workstation. If completely broken, will make the vehicle move slower and also take damage to the chassis and wheels.

    Changes in the Vehicles

Vehicles Base Speed Chassis Health Seats Greese Monkey Level gas_cans per mile General Cost
    Bicycle 15 mph 200 1 1 - 5 Forged Iron
    Minibike 20 mph 250 1 2 2 10 Forged Iron
    Touring Bike(Motorcycle) 30 mph 500 2 3 5 50 Forged Steel
    4X4 30 mph 1000 3 4 10 120 Forged Steel
    Sports Bike 60 mph 400 2 5 8 70 Forged Steel
    Sports Car 45 mph 700 2 5 12 110 Forged Steel

Touring Bike and Sports Bike can now be riden by 2 players. The third player in the 4x4 will be placed on the back of the vehicle, whereas the engine be moved at the hood. The third player will be able to fire at enemies. All vehicles have calculated weight. With more weight, the accelaration and top speed are lowered.

Note: The Chopper is left untouched, as i feel indifferent about it.

How the Sports Bike could look like.

How the Sports Car could look like.

    Modification and Upgrades

Most of the parts on the vehicles will now be replacable by better and stronger parts. Here are all the changes done in the vehicle parts, as well as some new ideas.

    • Engine. Engines now will be tiered from 1-6. Depending on the tier, the accelaration and top speed of the vehicle, would increase. In more detail the top speed increases by 5% per tier. That means that a tier 6 Sport Bike, would reach 78 mph. Cannot be crafted.
    • Batteries. Batteries will be stripped from their tiers. They will now all give the same amount of lead when smelted on a forge. Cannot be crafted.
    • Headlights. Headlights can now be dyable, and will emmit the color they are dyed (not sure if this is hard to code. If is hard, it shouldnt be a priority). Cannot be crafted.
    • Bulletproof Accessories. Basically the doors. They can be reinforced to be bulletproof. Greatly decreasing damage taken on the Chassis and Engine. As well as blocking all non-AP bullets. Expensive to make. Can only be crafted by learning a Bulletproof Car recipe. Increase weight.
    • Spikes. Spikes are now not integrated on the vehicle's accessories anymore. They are added as a separate upgrade. They cause a lot more damage at anything hit by them and also protect the front of the vehicle. Can easily be crafted. Increases weight.
    • Wheels. Wheels can now be upgraded to Bulletproof Wheels, or Off-road Wheels. Normal Wheels are made at level 2 of Greese Monkey. Bulletproof Wheels are basically unable to be broken and can only be made with a recipe, while off-road wheels can be made at level 4 of Greese Monkey and have much better control Off-Road, or at the snowy biome.
    • Windows in general. Can be tinted, with normal dyes.
    • Bulletproof Windows. Basically protect the player from bullets. Can only be made with recipe.
    • Turbo. Greatly increases accelaration and top speed. Adds this whistle like sound turbos make. Can only be found. Only applicable in Sports Cars.
    • Sound Muffler. Decreases vehicle sound. Great for not attracting as much attention. Can be crafted with a recipe.
    • Anti-lag. Increases accelaration and top speed even more. Can only be added if there is a Turbo. Adds the burst-like effect at the exhaust. Attracts more attention. Can only be found.
    • Spoiler. Just for looks. Adds weight. Can be crafted with a recipe. Has 3 different variables on the sports car and 2 on the 4X4.
    • Led Lights. Just for looks. Can be dyed to have a different light.
    • Back Lights. Just for looks. Basically light to signal brake and reverse.
    • Machine Gun Tower. A great way to weaponise the 4x4. Really costly and heavy, but makes the 4x4 deadly. Can be crafted with a recipe book.
    • Armored 4x4 Accessories. Makes the 4x4 even tankier looking. Greatly increases weight.
    • Spotlights. Added only on the 4x4. Can be crafted at level 5 Greese Monkey.

    Other features or bug fixes.

    1. The most important thing I want to be changed about the vehicles, even if everything else gets rejected would be how the engines sound. The Basic Sounds are pretty fitting for their vehicles. But the sounds are generally bugged, or simply not given enough attention. I would love to hear the vehicle changing gears like it would sound in any other game involving cars.
    2. Hitting two vehicles should be more punishing. Just for people to follow some basic road rules.
    3. Car revving needs to be a thing. If I need to flex my Turbo on my sports car, I dont want to be moving to do so. The best way would be to make it so that the player holds Handbrake and Forward at the same time.
    4. Depending on the vehicles perfromance and type. The vehicle would rev faster or slower.
    5. When starting the car with high turns or off-road, the wheels could spin in place. Adds in the whole car racing, or in the frighetning moment where the car is not moving and zombies are charging at you.
    6. Blood moon zombies could jump in your car and hit it until it breaks or you dismount to kill them. Just to make the Blood Moon surviving in vehicles harder.
    7. When mounting the vehicle you would need to wait for the engine to start. The engine could be left on after 30 seconds of dismounting and then getting turned off.
    8. Car drifting could be something to flex your skills on the wheel even further.
    9. Car Skins. This could be added in a form of Community made skins for vehicles, which will be added by players of the community and chosen by the devs to be added to the game, to take off a little bit of workload. They could also be purchasable in the steam store to further monetise the game.

The whole idea of reworking the vehicles came to me while playing with my friends on our server. We were sitting around with our vehicles at night and I was thinking how cool it would be if we could all have our unique vehicles lying around, racing and revving and all that. The whole idea of a community of people that is so far ahead of the stage of surviving that they get to do everyday pre-apocalypse things, like car races, fascinates me. I am of course biased, as I am a car guy, but I feel like those kinds of changes would be welcome by everyone, its just that many people would rather the devs to turn their attention into something else. If you made it this far, you deserve a full tier 6 set of Military Armor. Please leave your opinions in the comments. The devs have said that they are active in this reddit, so make sure to upvote, so that we give them an idea or 2. :)

    Looking for a server

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 02:41 AM PDT

    Hi All,

Looking for a populated English/US/Aus server to play on. I'm fed up of the console version, last update was in 2017 or something. So I want to play on PC instead.

Non of my mates have a PC, so be on my own. Which I'm fine about, but rather play on a populated server for the odd interaction.

I work full time and have a nagging wife, so i won't be as active as i want to be.....

Can anyone recommend a server for me?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Guys,

so if anyone wants to join, heres the IP:

IP: 176.57.140.173:26970 (Query Port: 26971, Telnet Port: 8151)

The name of the server is "Ascalon Club" and its pure PVE. the settings are all hardcore and there are no starter kits or anything, just pure vanilla 7 days to die!

Any way to make it so when I open menu it opened to my inventory instead of “players page” on ps4z

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 01:08 PM PDT

Kind of gets annoying to always have to scroll over to inventory or crafting page instead of just opening right to it.

Nitpicky I know, but I open the menu a million times, it would save a lot of time in the long run

    Recommended Mods for nicer bases?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:07 AM PDT

I get that it's a survival game and it's not supposed to be pretty, but I would love more options for building a cuter base.

Does anyone have recommendations for a mod or mods that could facilitate this? I still want to have to craft anything I add in. I don't want to just spawn items off a menu.

I love punching zombie heads off, but I would still like to kick back in a well earned idyllic cottage somewhere in between busting the teeth out of screamers.

    Thanks in advance!
