7 days to die high tier horde base

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 06:02 PM PDT

Friends and I are streaming 7 Days for 21 concurrent 45 min days, ideas?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 09:42 PM PDT

    The premise:

All of us spawn into a random gen world and survive solo (this is different as we always play co-op)

    PVP is fair game

    Raiding is fair game

We each start with a pistol/stack of ammo and 1k dukes

    Max difficulty most likely

I'm trying to come up with some sort of a point system based on zombie kills, dukes retained, skill points, not really sure to decide who wins, any ideas?

Among the edits I like to make in the game files (like higher seed yield in crafting), I have also added an extra recipe for gas, regular and stacked.

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 04:45 PM PDT

The recipe uses grain alcohol (presumably converted into ethanol or something like that, that is my head canon for the game)

Here is the recipe, if you want to copy and paste into the recipes folder: (make sure recipe line is indented, not just with spaces as I'm typing on mobile)

The recipe follows the same pattern for normal gas can recipes, with the stacked amount being 80% resource cost. I don't like actually cheating in game, but recipes like this to me are helpful for when you are far away from any desert

    <recipe name="ammoGasCan" count=50 craft_area="chemistryStation" tags="learnable,chemStationCrafting"/> <ingredient name="drinkJarGrainAlcohol" count="1"/> </recipe> <recipe name="ammoGasCan" count=1 craft_time="1" craft_area="chemistryStation" tags="learnable,chemStationCrafting"/> <ingredient name="drinkJarGrainAlcohol" count="160"/> </recipe>

Looking for a small group of players.

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 04:29 PM PDT

Hello, I played the console version of 7d2d, but never really got into the pc version. Usually I get bored when I'm by myself. Unfortunately, the friends that I played 7d2d on the console version have long lost interest in the game.

If your new or a veteran at the game. That is fine. As long as we can have fun as a group.

Super Easy to Build Horde Base Guide

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 10:17 PM PDT

    Hey all,

I wanted to share a horde base design that I've used a lot in alpha 19. It's a very simple base, but it can survive from day 1 to 70 easily, functions as both a horde base and a home base, and requires very little maintenance once you get it up and running. I've had this base built up to a functional level before the day 2 horde in horde night every night playthroughs even, but it's the perfect kind of base to work on during nights in your first week and easy to get up by day 7.

Here's a video version of the guide for those who would prefer to watch instead of read.

    Foundation:

I start by building a 9x9 foundation 3 blocks high. The reason I build 3 blocks high is because zombies can't attack your floor (thus creating steps to you) and this forces them to use the stairs that you build. For early game, you only need to upgrade the inner blocks to reinforced wood and this will be fine until demos spawn. I upgrade the outer walls of my foundation to cobblestone and on default settings (up to and including insane difficulty) this is already strong enough to survive the day 21 horde no sweat. As the game progresses you should upgrade all exterior blocks to at least reinforced concrete though. While building the foundation at night, zombies will be unable to get to you as you will be too high even if you don't have walls yet so this is very safe to build at night. To make it easier for you to get up to your foundation you can add a ladder to the top foundation block at the back of your base, you can easily jump up and climb the ladder to enter, alternatively, get parkour and you can leap straight in.

    Constructing the Kill Zone:

While standing on your completed foundation and facing what will be the front of your base, place blocks in the following pattern:

    B F B B Z B B F B
    B F B W B F B
    B FB FB B
    D D
    B B
    B B
    B B
    B B
    B H H H H H H H B

    Z: Where zombies will stand

B: 3 High block from foundation to roof.

W: Window. 1 Full block on the ground with a plate rotated and placed on the roof above it creating an opening into your base that is less than 1 block wide (this prevents dogs from jumping in).

F and FB: This is where you will place your electric fence posts. Place the posts parallel to the ground on column labeled FB. This means that 2 electric fence lines will be running through your kill zone, one close to the floor (allowing it to hit crawlers and dogs) and one around zombie chest height. This also gives you redundancy so that if you forget to repair, you have a second one to continue to stun zombies giving you a better chance to repair them.

D: Doors rotated outwards so that there is no space between the exterior wall and the door.

H: Rotated so that they open outward and create a wall; this needs to be done on the floor and roof. This prevents birds/spiders from getting in your base during horde night but allows you to have a nice open air base all other days of the week. You could just make these blocks if you prefer.

    Front of Base:

Before building my roof, I like to finish the front of my base and make it easier for zombies to come to the kill zone. Continuing from the previous chart:

    R B S B R
    R B B S B B R
    R B B B S B B B R
    B B B Z B B B

S: Your stairs built up to the kill zone where the Zombies will stand.

B: Full blocks built from the ground to the roof.

R: Ramp blocks advance rotated to create a smooth front this helping zombies glide in to your stairs rather than getting stuck on corners and going into rage mode.

Building like this creates a very smooth front of the base and fills in the empty space left by the electric fences previously. This design helps zombies find their way to your kill zone, then stuns them in place with the electric fence, making it very easy for you to kill them with melee, guns, or explosives. Since they are stunned they also tend to do very little damage to the base. For instance, on day 14 you would expect less than 300 damage on insane difficulty to be done to a cobblestone block, thus meaning you don't even need to repair to survive the night.

    Roof, Living Space, and Expansions:

After laying this out, build a roof that is 3 blocks up from the foundation (so just 2 empty blocks from floor to roof) and fill in your roof. I like to leave a 2x2 opening in my roof that allows me to jump up and build my living space on the second floor, but that is optional. Because the game has infinite vertical support, you can build as many floor upwards as you wish or need. You can also expand the base backwards as far as you'd like if you need more floor space, the 9x9 is just for starting.

This is the core of the base, beyond here is how you want to lay out your living space, crafting tables, storage, etc. This base does well from day 1 to day 70 with basically no modifications needed, just upgrade the shell to an appropriate level given your game stage. This base is so cheap and quick to set up that I have used a strategy where I make several of this exact base right next to each other, that way, in case I aim poorly and set off a demo, I can fall back to a new base with full health, hop right in, and continue the horde fight there as if nothing bad happened.

This build works best with a few points spent in strength and intellect at the start of the game. For example, by just level 16 you could have level 3 strength (giving you level 2 sexy trexy, level 3 miner69'r, and level 3 motherlode) and level 6 intellect (giving you level 3 advanced engineering unlocking electricity, workbenches, and cement mixers). This more than triples the rate at which you farm resources (90% faster and 60% more) while unlocking many recipes that you'll definitely want.

Whether you've been looking for a new base design to try out, or just need a base that's quick to build for your next horde night every night play through, I highly recommend giving this one a shot. Let me know how it goes for you.

    Question about gamestage and loot

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 06:18 AM PDT

So I saw in a video that gamestage 91+ gives "tier 3" loot. My question is, does the gamestage not matter beyond that point in terms of loot? If i have a gamestage 91 compared to someone who has a gamestage of 200, will we get the same "tier 3" loot? (both playing individually ofcourse, not talking about party)

gyrocopter messed up after the last patch?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2021 03:01 PM PDT

so me and my friends all noticed it appears the gyrocopter isn't "lifting" anymore to take off. we need anywhere from double to triple the strip distance now before we can get enough speed to lift off, and it appears much harder to fly now as well. any ideas if anything was changed? and if so is there a fix? or maybe i'm just retarded and it's in our heads? hahaha
